Chipper

At this precise moment in time I feel quite chipper. Half an hour ago I was too hot and really uncomfortable. At least the bad bits are interspersed with some good bits now. The Saint dropped off the stuff from Sainsburys and I had a bath - which didn't induce any itching, a good sign. It was also not as painful as last time which suggests to me that there are less pus-filled blisters on my back than hitherto.

Received my first (and indeed, only) Get Well Soon card today (thanks Joolz). And that's all there is to report at the moment. May post later. Incidentally, anyone seen the new Saturday Times? Its rubbish. J x

Sorry to hear you're feeling so unwell bebs. How are you doing with sopranos ..did you ever watch Mad Men? If not you should really catch up before the new season starts. Written by the guys who gave us Sopranos its slick glamourous and multi-layered and so zeitgeisty early sixties a la Revolutionary Road. There are so many similarities between Betty Draper (beautiful ex model) and April Wheeler ( beautiful ex actress kate winslet) that its hard to believe the writer wasn't having a Yatesian moment. But thats enough of girls the gorgeous but troubled Don Draper (jon Hamm )is delicious. The abandoned child we all want to comfort. Madmen refers to madison avenue where all the ad agencies were in the sixties. Anyway I love it. You're right the new times is rubbish and as so many journs were saying goodbye last wweek we can see why. This is half the content we used to get. Still there are some excellent articles on madmen and Doris Lessing now 90 god love her. Left school at thirteen apparently. Also article on Richard Yates crap father and underrated writer of Revolutionary Road. Sweet I love you and will come next week wth boxset if you're interested. Off to see Slumdog ...
