... with Ms DD. God the Spanish players are cute. Especially the goalie. I did look up his name but have had a little too much to drink (pay attention, Ms DD is involved in this story) to remember it. Anyway he's cute. Am recording Kinky Boots as Ms DD wants to watch that too. We're into extra time at the moment and who knows where we'll end up. Exciting times. That's all. J x

Sorry hunnybun have missed a few days so am just catching up now, but did you really see semi clad students walking past a widow? Was she one of those greek orthodox widows with a black scarf over her head? What powers of observation you have. Btw don't diss the brum as I am a daughter of the city, kipper tie with milk and sugar and all that, only I was cruelly stripped of my delicious accent by too much time spent in the south. To this day, the sound of Mark Williams can reduce me to tears - do you remember that wonderful advert which finished up with him saying "we want to be together"? Found it on YouTube last week and forced my lads to watch it, as 50% of their DNA is brummy so it was almost genealogical for them. Bosting eh.
Currently being a foster mum - two 12 week old kittens which arrived last night, they were due to go to a cat charity but the lady who fosters has cat flu in the house so I've got them for 2 weeks. Soooo sweet... maternal feelings working overtime. Not keeping them though, they will be rehomed and I'll have to say goodbye to them.
PS This summer's drink here is white zinfandel and lots of it.

You should have your own blog, Ms Newcastlewench - your comments are very entertaining.
How can you part with two kittens? BTW was the DIY cat scratching post project successful?
Nanny
Hello Nanny - I already have four cats, so to keep these would mean having 6 and that's a step too close to being the MadCatWoman in the Simpsons. Besides which there are only so many cat-poos which my neighbours flowerbeds can cope with.
Yes the scratching post was a huge triumph and is still going strong, and is showing no signs of wear - the sisal is not yet stringy and the bits of mat which I put on the base are still as new, so am chuffed with my experiment.
My youngest cat (not counting the ickle fosterkits) is a black longhaired boy who is so stylish that I'm sure he could model as greebo - trouble is, he's not at all greebo-ish in character so couldn't pass close scrutiny, it would be like trying to pass frank spencer off as arnie schwazenozzer. But to look at he's very rock n roll. We'll have to swap pics. In fact I sent His Lewisness a pic of my luvvly boy-cat and he was most dismissive of it (yes you were, you know you were, don't say you weren't).
Nanny we will have to meet in Lewisland sometime. I'm sure the boy wonder can arrange something?

It would be lovely to meet, Wenchie, and Jonathon would be sooooo bored by our cat talk! Let me know when you are next in Manchester and we can have a cocktail or two.
Have only two cats - sisters - and two dogs - also sisters. I really need to invent a revolving cat door as feel like I am the doorman at the Dorchester at times. That didn't sound right, did it? No, I don't have a revolving cat - honestly.
BTW, do you think there is a correlation between the amount of martinis Jonathan drinks with the amount of cuteness he finds in various footballers?

Ahem ..excuse me ladies may i interrupt.
Went to Summer Exhibition and scoured all tiny beachside paintings only to discover that Tony and Alistair Brighton interior is largish paiting by Ken Howard RA. This painting is NFS but other paintings by Ken were going for around £30k so respect. Beautiful I thought. The koons even more beautiful in the flesh. Loved Emin's room so engaging everyone trying to work out how writhing phalluses cast a shadow of two faced man.
Despite still not being able to put my heel down due to bust hamstring managed 2 hours on my feet before collapsing in deck chair in green Park. When it got cold i made my way to hatchards and selected the biography of that asshole philosopher Ayn rand to read and sat on a chair waiting for Bill to finish his leica lesson in jermyn Street. reader..I bought the book well i felt obliged to. Off to turkey this week see you next week.
