Moving Swiftly On...

...(in case anyone stumbling across this site thinks we're all geeks who can only talk about doctors and flares), how are you all doing? I've had an uneventful day today since the weather has left me disinclined to do anything. Didn't even make it out of my pyjamas today (my mother will have something to say about that I'm sure).

Susie T called round today on her way to Southampton and the Mediterranean. Bon voyage sweetie (to you and Nanny) and don't forget to log on whilst on the boat.

Sorry, hope to have more to report tomorrow. J x

'in case anyone stumbling across this site thinks we're all geeks ...'

Nice use of the phrase 'in case' there.

I learned many years ago to embrace my inner geek.

Though the world may see me as an erudite intellectual, mesmerising the masses with my chat, cheekbones and boyishly blond tresses, I know that in reality I am a very puny twerp. One with a tenuous grasp on the world and its' glories, its' nightmares and possessive apostrophe.

However I do choose to present myself otherwise and, like Dear Old, Bewildered and Battered Katrina (she of the Saxophonist bent and large lung) I skip merrily through life embracing cultish things whilst wisely distancing myself from The Anorak Brigade.

Altogether now...

'Down in the meadow where the wind blows free / In the middle of a field stands the lightning tree / Down in the meadow where the wind blows cold / The lightening tree stands stiff and old ... etc.

Jonathan - at the risk that your comment "how are you all doing?" was rhetorical, I'm going to dare to answer it.
Monday was a Curate's Egg. Went to the doctor for a well-woman check and when it got to the weigh-in, the nurse refused to put 'luxuriously upholstered' (my suggestion) on my records but used the 'O' word instead. Huh! So the diet has started: mmmm luvverly cottage cheese; ewwww nasty chocolate.
But at Book Group in the evening I GET TO CHOOSE THE NEXT BOOK! Ohhhh the power!! This is my revenge for having to plough through Conrad's Nostromo the other week - I might make em read a Darren Shan, or a Jasper fforde, or maybe go the whole hog and choose a Terry Pratchett. Trashy, moi? Only the highest quality of peasantry, dahling.

My trouble is....no one believes I'm a geek no matter how much I embrace it!
Just a point of information; the saxophonist thing is O.V.E.R!(2 yrs now) And the relief is palpable!!
